The Project Redux bike uses innovative materials and shows off Ather's vision for bikes that sense a rider's intent and adapt accordingly.

Ather Energy has pulled the wraps off Redux, a futuristic moto-scooter concept that blends the agility of a scooter with the dynamics of a motorcycle. Unveiled at the company’s Community Day 2025, Redux is positioned as a showcase of Ather’s vision for intelligent, high-performance two-wheelers of the future.

Built on Ather’s newly introduced EL platform, the Redux concept is designed with an “inside-out” approach, focusing on responsiveness and adaptability. The moto-scooter features a lightweight aluminium frame, 3D-printed lattice mesh seat, and sustainable body panels made from materials like AmplyTex. It also debuts experimental technologies such as adaptive ride dynamics, posture-based transformation from scooter to sportbike, Morph-UI (an interface that adapts to riding context), and an ultra-fast acceleration mode called Take Off.

The EL platform has a fixed frame and powertrain but body styles, batteries, and other features can be customised for different target buyers.

The EL platform itself marks a strategic shift for Ather. It is the company’s first new vehicle architecture since the 450, built for versatility, scalability, and cost optimisation. Developed using 26 lakh km of field data, the EL platform features a redesigned chassis, powertrain, and electronics stack. It allows for faster assembly, improved serviceability, and enhanced safety through innovations such as an advanced electronic braking system.

According to Ather co-founder and CEO Tarun Mehta, the EL platform will underpin the company’s next phase of growth by enabling multiple scooter formats for different consumer segments while maintaining cost efficiency. The new manufacturing facility at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar is expected to scale production based on EL-based products.

While Redux may not enter production in its current form, industry watchers see it as a statement of Ather’s long-term intent: to merge performance with intelligence, and to stay ahead in India’s rapidly evolving EV two-wheeler market.
