The Audi Q8 facelift rivals the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5 and Lexus RX.
Audi India has just launched the Q8 facelift at ₹1.17 crore (ex-showroom, India). The facelifted version of Audi’s flagship SUV gets a slightly different design, an updated features list but the same powertrain as before. It competes with the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLE, BMW X5 and the Lexus RX. Let’s take a look at how Audi’s latest SUV fares against its rivals in terms of specifications and pricing.
As mentioned, the Q8 facelift is priced at ₹1.17 crore. The BMW X5 is priced between ₹97 - 99 lakh, while the Mercedes-Benz GLE is priced at ₹97.85 lakh - 1.15 crore. Prices for the Lexus RX range between ₹97.30 lakh - 1.21 crore. (all prices ex-showroom, India).

The starting price of the Audi Q8 facelift is the highest compared to the other SUVs in this list. However, the BMW X5 is the most affordable model of the lot. However, the price of the top-spec Lexus RX is the most expensive SUV here, costing ₹1.21 crore.

In terms of length, the Audi Q8 is the longest vehicle of the lot (4995 mm). On the other hand, the Lexus RX is the shortest at 4890 mm. The Q8 and the GLE have an identical wheelbase at 2995 mm, while the X5 has the shortest (2819 mm). Being the coupe SUV, the Q8 isn’t the shortest vehicle in terms of height interestingly. The Lexus RX at 1695 mm takes that spot and the GLE takes the crown for being the tallest. In terms of width, the BMW X5 is the widest of the lot, and the RX is the narrowest.

Since the Audi Q8 is solely available with a petrol engine, we are comparing it to the petrol-powered variants of the other SUVs in this list. Interestingly, the Lexus RX is the only strong hybrid model in this list. All others get a 48-volt mild-hybrid assist.
The Q8, GLE and X5 get a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, while the RX gets a 2.5-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain. The X5 and GLE produce an identical 375 bhp but the former produces 20 Nm more torque at 520 Nm compared to the latter. The Q8, however, is the least powerful model in this list with just 335 bhp. While the Lexus gets a 6-speed automatic transmission, the X5 and Q8 get an 8-speed automatic. Only the GLE gets a 9-speed automatic transmission.
