Audi Q9 India Launch Officially Confirmed for Next Year

Audi India has officially confirmed that its full-size flagship Q9 SUV will be launched in the Indian automobile market next year. Making the announcement on social media, the Brand Director of Audi India, Balbir Singh Dhillon, stated that the upcoming luxury vehicle possesses all the key ingredients to make a strong impact and establish a new benchmark in its competitive segment. Measuring over 5.3 metres in length, the Q9 will arrive as the German carmaker's largest, most spacious, and most opulent SUV offering in the country upon its arrival.

On the outside, the Q9 adopts a commanding design language highlighted by a massive front grille featuring illuminated vertical slats and split Digital Matrix LED headlights capable of projecting driver warning symbols directly onto the road. At the rear, the luxury SUV debuts world-first 3D curved digital OLED taillights. Additional highlights include soft-closing automatic doors equipped with integrated collision-detection sensors alongside large alloy wheel options ranging from 20 to 23 inches in size.

Inside, the cabin comes standard in a practical seven-seat layout, alongside an optional luxury six-seat configuration featuring power-adjustable second-row captain's chairs for added passenger comfort. The dashboard houses a highly advanced triple-screen display setup, which includes a 12.3-inch driver instrument display, a 14.5-inch central infotainment touchscreen running on Android Automotive OS, and a dedicated 12.3-inch front-passenger display equipped with built-in privacy mode technology.

Globally, the standard Q9 range is offered with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine producing 295 bhp and 630 Nm of torque, as well as a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol unit developing 425 bhp and 599 Nm. For high-performance enthusiasts, the range-topping SQ9 variant packs a potent 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine generating 587 bhp and 800 Nm. All engine options come paired with an eight-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission, permanent Quattro all-wheel drive, and adaptive air suspension as standard factory equipment.
