Hero claims that the Xoom 125 is the one of the fastest scooters in the 125 cc segment.

Alongside the Xoom 160, Hero MotoCorp also launched the Xoom 125 at the Auto Expo 2025. Priced from ₹86,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards, the new Xoom 125 will be available in two variants – VX and ZX. Bookings for the brand new 125 cc scooter will commence in February 2025, post which deliveries will begin from March 2025 onwards.

The Hero Xoom 125 boasts quite the aggressive styling, some of which can be traced back to the Xoom 110. But unlike the latter, the new Xoom 125 packs in a bigger 125 cc engine that is good for 9.8 bhp and 10.4 Nm. Hero says that the Xoom 125 is one of its fastest offerings as of yet as it claims to accelerate from 0-60 kmph in 7.6 seconds.

Built on a completely new frame, the new Hero Xoom 125 equips conventional telescopic fork and a single-side shock absorber. Giving it a nice sporty appeal are those big 14-inch wheels that are shod with chunky 110/80- and 120/70- section tyres.

Braking duties are carried out by a petalled disc/drum brake setup on the top-spec Xoom 125 ZX variant, while in the Xoom 125 VX variant both the brakes are drum units. Additionally, the former comes with machined alloy wheels, while the base variant rides on cast alloy wheels. Due to these subtle differences in hardware components, the Xoom 125 VX weighs 120 kg, while the Xoom 125 ZX weighs 121 kg.

Feature-wise, the Xoom 125 gets a fully digital LCD cluster, which does not come with any smartphone connectivity at all. However, Hero tries to make up for it by equipping the Xoom 125 with sequential turn indicators, which makes it the first 125 cc scooter to be available with these features. Beyond that, it gets all-LED units, and the start switch is backlit.

The Hero Xoom 125 has launched in a segment which includes some pretty heavy hitters, like the TVS Ntorq 125, Suzuki Avenis, and Honda Dio 125. Will the new Hero be a better option than these three scooters? We can’t wait to find it out.
