The brand’s EV portfolio comprised 34 per cent of the total units sold last month.
As per the latest sales report released by British carmaker MG Motor India for April 2024, the brand has registered a 1.45 per cent dip in sales on a year-on-year basis. The brand retailed 4,485 units in the country last month, compared to 4551 units it sold in April 2023. Even on a month-on-month basis, MG Motor India’s sales have also dipped by 3.5 per cent, for in March 2023 the brand had retailed 4,648 units.
However, EVs continue to contribute a significant share of its overall sales. So, of the 4,485 units, 34 per cent of sales were of MG’s EVs, which include the likes of the MG Comet and ZS EV. To further maintain this momentum, MG Motor is also working on expanding its EV offerings in the country, and by 2028 the company will have five new cars, the majority of which will be EVs.
