When it comes to roadsters in India there’s only one brand that has dominated sales last month.
The roadster segment has matured quite a bit with healthy sales figures to report in August 2024. However, riding high on this trend is just one brand and that’s Royal Enfield. Both its J-series and the Sherpa 450 range are proving to be quite successful. Check the table below:
Bikes | August 2024, Sales | August, 2023 Sales |
Royal Enfield Classic 350, Bullet 350, Meteor 350, Hunter 350 | 57,376 units | 61,509 units |
Triumph Speed 400, Scrambler 400X | 3,328 units | 3,204 units |
Honda CB350 H’Ness, CB350, CB350 RS | 3,112 units | 3,457 units |
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 | 2,205 units | NA |
TVS Ronin | 2,029 units | 2,021 units |
The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is single-headedly carrying forward RE’s dominion in this segment with 28,450 units retailed last month. This is followed by the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, which with 13,481 units sold, is the second most popular offering in its line-up. The newly launched Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is off to a decent start as well, and the brand has already dispatched 2,205 units, a few hundred more than the Himalayan 450 (2,099 units).
The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X duo are helping the British bike maker continue to be the second most popular retro brand in the country. However, with a combined sales of just 3,328 units – they seem far from challenging the leader. On the contrary, the Honda CB350s keep performing in a rather stable manner. The latest recall needs some keen attention from Honda’s side to make sure its reliability trust factor isn’t damaged in any manner. We hope to see how the market responds in the upcoming festive period with a few new launches planned in the segment very soon.
