Auto Sales August 2025: TVS Crosses The 5 Lakh Monthly Sales Milestone

TVS Motor Company has reported its best-ever monthly sales performance, selling 5,09,536 units in August 2025 and crossing the five lakh milestone for the first time. The Hosur-based manufacturer saw a 30% increase compared to the 3,91,588 units sold in August 2024.

The company's two-wheeler division drove the strong performance, with sales rising 30% from 3,78,841 units in August 2024 to 4,90,788 units in August 2025. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew 28%, climbing from 289,073 units to 368,862 units year-on-year.

Both motorcycles and scooters contributed significantly to the growth. Motorcycle sales jumped 30% from 170,486 units in August 2024 to 221,870 units in August 2025, whilst scooter sales performed even better with 36% growth, rising from 163,629 units to 222,296 units over the same period.

The electric vehicle segment remained relatively stable, with 25,138 units sold in August 2025 compared to 24,779 units in the previous year. However, the company noted that magnet availability continues to present challenges for the EV business in the short to medium term.

TVS Motor's international operations showed robust expansion, with total exports surging 35% from 99,976 units in August 2024 to 135,367 units in August 2025. Two-wheeler exports specifically grew 36%, increasing from 89,768 units to 121,926 units year-on-year.

The three-wheeler segment delivered the strongest growth rate, with sales jumping 47% from 12,747 units in August 2024 to 18,748 units in August 2025.

The record-breaking month reflects TVS Motor's strong position across multiple vehicle categories and markets, with particularly impressive performance in exports and the domestic scooter segment.
