Auto Sales December 2023: Hyundai Motor India Records 9 Per Cent Growth

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. (HMIL) has reached a milestone, breaking its own records by achieving the highest-ever domestic sales in a calendar year, surpassing the six lakh sales mark. In CY2023, the company recorded robust sales of 6,02,111 units, marking a 9 per cent increase from the previous year's figure of 5,52,511 units.

Tarun Garg, COO, HMIL, commented, “In the momentous year of 2023, Hyundai Motor India witnessed a watershed moment by achieving its highest-ever domestic sales of 6,02,111 units, representing a respectable 9 per cent growth over the previous year's sales volume.”

Additionally, the company said it has exceeded industry growth, estimated at around 8.2 per cent, a major reason being the expansion of the South Korean giants annual production capacity by 50,000 units to meet the increasing demand. Hyundai also improved its export performance by 10 per cent shipping 1,63,675 units in CY2023 compared to 1,48,300 units in CY2022.

In December 2023, HMIL maintained its strong performance with a total sales figure of 56,450 units, comprising 42,750 units in domestic sales and 13,700 units in exports. This achievement underscores Hyundai Motor India's sustained growth and proactive measures to meet market demands.
