MG Motor India has reported a boost in its annual sales, reaching 56,902 units for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2023. This marks 18 per cent growth compared to the preceding fiscal year and signifies the company's upward trajectory for the fourth consecutive year. In the month of December 2023 alone, MG Motor India recorded retail sales of 4,400 units, reflecting a 13 per cent year-on-year increase from the corresponding figures in December 2022.
MG Motor India has outpaced the industry average growth rate in the overall Passenger Vehicle (PV) segment, boasting an 18 per cent expansion for the current fiscal year. This stands in contrast to the industry norm of 8-9 per cent growth within the same sector.
Furthermore, MG Motor India has solidified its position as the second-largest electric vehicle (EV) seller in the country, with approximately 25 per cent of its total sales stemming from EV models. The MG ZS, the manufacturer's flagship EV and India's inaugural pure-electric internet EV SUV, along with the MG Comet, has garnered positive responses from EV enthusiasts, resulting in the sale of around 20,000 units to date.
