Renault is pinning its hopes on the upcoming third-gen Duster slated to make its debut on 26 January.
Renault India closed calendar year 2025 with a visible improvement in sales momentum, led by a strong second-half performance and a sharp uptick in December. The automaker reported 18.2 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth in the second half of CY2025, with Q4 sales rising 27.3 percent, highlighting a sustained recovery after a period of portfolio transition.
December emerged as one of Renault India’s strongest months of the year, with 3,845 units sold, representing a 33.4 percent YoY increase compared to December 2024. In November 2025, Renault reported sales of 3,662 units resulting in a marginal 5% month-on-month (MoM) growth. This positive trend that began in Q3 has extended into Q4 CY2025 as refreshed products helped gain traction.
Renault India’s recovery in H2 CY2025 was primarily driven by its refreshed model lineup including the Triber facelift, launched in July 2025, and the Kiger facelift, introduced in August, played a central role in improving showroom momentum in the latter part of the year.
On an MoM basis, December demand benefited from improved availability, while YoY the updated Triber and Kiger strengthened Renault’s value proposition compared to December 2024, when the outgoing models were nearing the end of their lifecycle, helping the brand regain competitiveness in the entry MPV and compact SUV segments during Q4.
Beyond products, Renault India’s December performance was aided by several strategic initiatives rolled out through 2025. The introduction of new ‘R’ stores enhanced retail experience, while the establishment of the Renault Design Centre in India reinforced local product relevance. The rollout of a three-year standard warranty further improved ownership confidence, supporting conversions during the year-end period.

For MoM, these initiatives contributed to improved dealer engagement and footfall in December compared to earlier months in H2. YoY, they represent a marked strengthening of Renault’s operating foundation versus December 2024.

Renault is now gearing up to launch the all-new Duster slated to take place on 26 January 2026. The Duster nameplate is set to return to the Indian market after a gap of over three years since its discontinuation. Test mules of the new Renault Duster have been spied on several occasions over the past year or so, suggesting the India-spec model to be different from the one sold in international markets.
