Honda recorded domestic sales of 286,101 units in December.

Honda India concluded 2023 on a positive note, with total sales for the month reaching 3,17,123 units. Domestic sales for the month registered a 23 percent year-over-year (YoY) growth, while exports grew by 82 percent over the same period last year. Throughout the calendar year 2023, the company sold a total of 43,84,559 units.

Last month, Honda India marked a remarkable performance with 4,20,677 units in domestic sales. However, the sales landscape took a turn in December 2023, as the company reported a total of 317,123 units. This figure includes 286,101 units in domestic sales and 31,022 units in exports. This is approximately 32% less than the domestic sales achieved in the previous month.

This year, Honda introduced the Shine 100 to the market as the most affordable commuter motorcycle in their lineup. It was aimed to cause a slight dent in the Hero Splendor’s market share. Even though it is a sprightly little thing, it didn’t quite create as much of a whir as Honda hoped. Sadly, they did not update the Activa this year, which could potentially mean a more value-driven update is on its way.

The Big Wing launched the CB350 as a direct rival for the Royal Enfield Classic 350. Not to forget, the XL750 Transalp that was ridden in at quite an accessible pricing, especially by Honda standards. As usual, various special editions were launched, along with OBD-2 updates for other two-wheelers in their lineup.
