Despite selling just one extra car last month, Kia India managed to post an encouraging 23.8 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) sales increase in February 2025. Last month, the company cumulatively sold 25,026 units of SUVs and MPVs, which was 4,826 units more than the 20,200 units it sold in February 2024. However, compared to January 2025, which was 25,025 units, it was just one extra.
While Seltos and Sonet continue to drive the maximum volume for the company, Seltos saw a minor month-on-month sales drop from 6,470 units in January 2025 to 6,446 units in February 2025. On the other hand, Sonet’s sales grew from 7,194 units to 7,598 units in the same corresponding months.
The newly launched Kia Syros, has already raked up sales of 5,425 units with over 20,000 bookings. Interestingly, most of the bookings, i.e. 46 per cent to be exact, were for the top-spec variant. “The overwhelming response to the Syros reaffirms our belief that Indian consumers seek the best in automotive excellence,” exclaimed Hardeep Singh Brar, Senior Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at Kia India.
On the MPV front, Kia India dispatched 4.21 per cent less Carens with just 5,318 units dispatched last month, compared to the 5,522 units it did in January 2025. While it's palace on wheels offering, the Carnival, saw 239 buyers, compared to the 293 units buyers it did in January 2025.
However, the export business has grown significantly. Kia India exported 2,042 units of the Seltos, Sonet and Carens to over 70 countries. This was a 40 per cent month-on-month growth compared to 1,454 units it shipped in January 2025.
