Auto Sales February 2026: MG Motor India Records 24% Sales Growth

JSW MG Motor India posted a strong performance in February 2026, recording wholesales of 4,957 units, marking a 24% year on year increase compared to the same period last year. The company noted that demand remained consistent across both its internal combustion engine and electric vehicle portfolios.

While MG India’s current lineup mostly includes EVs, the company is doubling down on its ICE line up as well. The brand will soon expand its product lineup with the launch of the Majestor, a new D+ segment diesel SUV positioned to challenge the Toyota Fortuner.

The Majestor, which has already been revealed (except for the price), has been engineered with a strong focus on off-road capability and comes equipped with triple differential locks across the front, rear and centre. It also features a four wheel drive system supported by multiple terrain modes and crawl control, enhancing its suitability for challenging driving conditions.

As part of MG’s ownership programme, the Majestor will be offered with a comprehensive package aimed at improving long term ownership value. This includes a five year unlimited kilometre warranty, five years of roadside assistance and five labour free services. Bookings for the SUV are currently open, with customers able to reserve the vehicle through a token amount of ₹41,000, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

The company continues to operate under the joint venture formed between JSW Group and SAIC Motor in 2023. Manufacturing operations are based at the Halol facility in Gujarat, which has an annual production capacity of more than 100,000 vehicles.
