Simultaneously, Bajaj’s export business also grew by 37 per cent.
Bajaj Auto has kickstarted its 2025 campaign on quite the mix note. While its domestic business registered a year-on-year sales drop of 11 per cent, its export business grew more than double of that with an year-on-year increase of 37 per cent.
In January 2025, Bajaj sold 1,71,299 two-wheelers in the country, compared to 1,93,350 units it did a year back in the same month. However, when compared to the 1,28,335 units it retailed in December 2024, Bajaj’s domestic sales on a month-on-month basis grew by 33.48 per cent.
On the other hand, its export business has been growing on a consistent basis for quite some time now. The same occurred last month too wherein it exported 1,57,114 units. This was not just 37 per cent more than what it did in January 2024, it was also 9.23 per cent more on a month–on-month basis than the 1,43,838 units it retailed in December 2024.
Cumulatively, Bajaj continues to maintain a comfortable business uptick at 7 per cent. The Indian marque has already retailed 3,28,413 units in a month. On a year-to-date basis (From April to January FY 24-25), Bajaj’s domestic sales have grown by 4 per cent, from 18,97,054 units to 19,78,452 units. Its export business has further grown by 14 per cent, from 12,22,300 units to 13,88,707 units.
Bajaj has a couple of more bikes to launch with updates that are required to comply with the latest emission norms. We have already seen the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 get revived for 2025, debuting with a new LED tail light cluster, albeit in the same “Bumble-bee” styled body and new features. The Bajaj Freedom 125 has also registered quite the positive sales momentum, as it reached its first milestone in just a few weeks of its launch. Alongside the Pulsar N160 also gained a new single-seat variant which is more affordable than the base-spec variant it replaces. However, this new variant will not be available at all states, tap the link here to know why.
