Royal Enfield maintains its stronghold in this segment as well with the Himalayan performing quite well.
Adventure bikes are the preferred choice for those who desire a motorcycle that excels on the city's rough roads and can handle highway stints with ease. Here's how the adventure bikes sales in the month of July 2024 look like:
Bike | July 2024 | July 2023 |
---|---|---|
Royal Enfield Himalayan | 2,769 | 3,171 |
Hero XPulse 200 | 2,523 | 3,630 |
Suzuki V-Strom | 636 | 515 |
KTM 390* | 593 | 1,122 |
Honda CB 200X | 544 | - |
The top spot in the adventure bike sales has been taken by the Royal Enfield Himalayan. This is a combined total of the new Himalayan 450 as well as the Scram 411 as SIAM data doesn’t report them separately. However, still compared to last year with the older generation Himalayan 411 and Scram 411 on sale, the numbers do not seem to have reached the same heights.

This bike is a stepping stone for those who aspire to own a bigger adventure bike in the future. Its approachability, friendliness and visual presence are key factors that drive sales. Meanwhile, the Suzuki V-Strom SX trails behind at 636 units, but it shows year-on-year growth and consistency. Suzuki could benefit from a more adventure-focused version of the bike, for the more hardcore buyer.

There is a small caveat here with regards to the KTM’s numbers. Although, the KTM 390 series as a whole has outshone the pseudo-ADV Honda CB200X, the exact numbers of the 390 Adventure haven’t been shared. More so, there’s a clearance sale of the existing 390 Adventure as well as 250 Adventure going on with a free Givi top box offered to the buyers. This suggests that the new generation of its adventure lineup is soon to arrive. Read more about it here.
