With a few new launches on the horizon, the company is ready to boost sales considerably
Royal Enfield witnessed a mixed bag of results in June 2024 sales compared to the previous year. While domestic sales managed a slight increase of 2.93% compared to May 2024, they fell short year-over-year (YoY) by 2%. This stands in contrast to some competitors in the Indian two-wheeler market which enjoyed better YoY performances.
The bigger concern for Royal Enfield lies in exports, which saw a significant YoY decline of 27% compared to June 2023. Overall sales mirrored the domestic trend, with a marginal month-over-month (MoM) increase of 2.91% but a YoY dip of 5%.
| June 2024 | May 2024 | % MoM Growth | June 2023 | % YoY Growth |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Domestic | 66,117 | 64,238 | 2.93% | 67,495 | -2% |
Exports | 7,024 | 6,832 | 2.81% | 9,614 | -27% |
Total | 73,141 | 71,070 | 2.91% | 77,109 | -5% |
Despite the YoY decline, the MoM uptick in domestic sales offers a glimmer of hope for a possible recovery in the coming months for Royal Enfield. The company itself remains optimistic about the future, with CEO B Govindarajan highlighting the company’s focus on long-term plans and a focus on several key areas.
Royal Enfield is looking to navigate the current market challenges with a multi-pronged approach. Firstly, it is planning exciting new product launches to improve its portfolio. The highly anticipated Guerrilla 450 roadster is a prime example and we are going to see it on July 17. Read more details about it here.
Secondly, the company is making strides towards a more sustainable future. Its recent unveiling of Camp Kharu, the first Green Pit Stop in Ladakh. This eco-friendly initiative promotes sustainable travel and empowers local communities. Here are more details about it.
Finally, Royal Enfield continues to foster a strong sense of community among motorcycle enthusiasts. Events like Motoverse 2024 which is a three-day festival celebrating motorcycling culture. It will have music, art, and industry talks. More details.
