Hyundai India sold 60,924 units in India in June 2025, witnessing a downtick of nearly 6 per cent compared to June 2024, when it sold 64,803 units. In the first quarter of the financial year 2026 (FY26), the South Korean brand sold a little more than 1.80 lakh units, and in the first half of the calendar year 2025, Hyundai India sold almost 3.34 lakh units.
In June, Hyundai India sold 44,024 units in the domestic market and exported 16,900 units. While its domestic sales declined by 12 per cent, its exports grew by nearly 15 per cent compared to June 2024.
However, compared to May 2025, sales in June grew by 3 per cent as Hyundai sold 58,701 units in May. Domestic sales grew by just 0.3 per cent as domestic sales in May 2025 amounted to 43,861 units. Exports grew by almost 14 per cent as Hyundai sent out 14,840 units in May 2025.
In the first half of 2025, the brand sold 3,33,949 units, which is a 13 per cent decline compared to the same period in 2024, where it sold 3,85,772 units. On the other hand, Hyundai’s exports in Q1 FY26 grew by 13 per cent as Hyundai sent out 48,140 units and 42,600 units in the same period last year. Exports accounted for 26.7 per cent of the total sales in Q1 FY26.
Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai India, said, “In the domestic market, the geopolitical situation continued to affect the market sentiment with domestic sales registering 44,024 units in June 2025.” Garg added, “As we come closer to the beginning of production at the Talegaon plant, we remain cautiously optimistic about a gradual recovery of demand, supported by reduction in repo rates and improving liquidity on account of cut in CRR (Cash Reserve Ratio).”
