Auto Sales June 2025: MG Motor India Registers 21% YoY Growth

JSW MG Motor India reported retail sales of 5,829 units in June 2025, marking a 21 per cent year-on-year growth over the 4,644 units sold in June 2024. The sales performance follows a strong run in May 2025, where the company sold 6,304 units. Compared to the previous month, June figures reflect a marginal decline of approximately 7.5 per cent, indicating a slight correction following an upward trend in recent months.

Despite the sequential drop, the company has maintained a positive trajectory on an annual basis. The year-on-year growth in June builds upon a base that had seen a 9 per cent decline in June 2024 compared to June 2023. This improvement in year-on-year performance points toward renewed market traction for the brand’s offerings in 2025.

A significant contributor to MG Motor India’s recent momentum has been its electric vehicle portfolio, led by the MG Windsor EV and ZS EV. While the company did not provide a monthly breakdown of individual model sales for June 2025, previous data indicates that the ZS EV achieved its highest-ever monthly sales in June 2024 with 1,861 units, accounting for 40 per cent of total volume at the time. Demand for the ZS EV reportedly continued to rise through May 2024 as well, reflecting growing consumer interest in the electric SUV segment.

Looking ahead, JSW MG Motor India is preparing to enter the luxury vehicle segment with the upcoming launch of the MG M9, a high-end presidential limousine. This model will be followed by the MG Cyberster, a performance-oriented electric roadster marketed as the world’s fastest MG. Both vehicles will be offered through a newly announced premium retail network called MG Select, which will cater specifically to the brand’s high-end clientele.
