By selling over 12.77 lakh units in the first quarter of FY 26, TVS has registered its highest ever quarterly sales.
TVS Motor Company is ending the first quarter of FY 26 on quite a high note. The Hosur-based bike maker has so far retailed 12.77 lakh units cumulatively in both domestic and export markets, which is its highest ever quarterly sales. In June 2025 alone, the brand retailed 3,85,698 bikes and scooters, which was 20% more than the 3,22,168 units it cumulatively retailed last year in the same corresponding month. Out of which, 2,81,012 two-wheelers were retailed in the domestic market, which was 10% more than the 2,55,734 units it retailed in the same corresponding month, last year.
Particularly encouraging was the growth in demand for TVS’ motorcycles, wherein sales increased by 24% from 1,52,701 units in June 2024 to 1,88,774 in June 2025. But compared to that, TVS’ scooters posted a slightly higher sales growth of 26% with 1,62,291 units sold last month, as against the 1,28,986 units it retailed in the same month, last year.
On the other hand, while sales of the TVS iQube have remained steady, its production is poised for challenges in the medium term owing to rare earth magnet availability, noted the company. Due to this, sales of the electric scooter dropped by 9.2% in June 2025, with just 14,440 units retailed compared to 15,859 units retailed last year in the same month.
However, TVS' cumulative export business has grown handsomely by 54%, with 1,17,145 units exported, compared to the 76,074 units it exported in the same month last year. This development was mainly pushed by its two-wheeler portfolio, which grew by 58% last month.
Moving forward, we expect TVS to grow further, for it has quite a few new, exciting products awaiting launch. From its first adventure bike to a new affordable electric scooter, the brand has quite an aggressive product onslaught for the rest of this year. So, stay tuned to this space for all the upcoming launches from the brand.
