Aside from a slew of new launches, Royal Enfield’s community-driven initiatives are helping the brand bring in more business.
Royal Enfield’s streak of sales growth continues into May 2025. The Chennai-based manufacturer cumulatively retailed 89,429 motorcycles last month, which was not just 26 per cent more than the 71,010 units it retailed last year in the same month, but also a steady 3.32 per cent more than the 86,559 units it retailed in April 2025.
The majority of last month’s sales growth was again primarily driven by its export business which grew by a whopping 82 per cent at 13,609 units from 7,479 units in May 2024. In the domestic market too, the brand recorded an year-on-year sales growth of 19 per cent by retailing 75,820 motorcycles as against the 63,531 units in May 2024.
However, on a month-on-month basis domestic sales have remained steady with a negligible 0.24 per cent drop compared to the 76,002 sales registered in April 2025. But export business grew by a healthy 28.91 per cent as against the 10,557 units it retailed in April 2025. The company will be hoping to improve domestic sales as the rate of growth is pretty low. “This month, we’ve continued to build on our momentum with steady growth in India and international markets,” noted B Govindarajan, Managing Director, Eicher Motors, and Chief Executive Officer, Royal Enfield.

Royal Enfield’s community-driven initiatives have worked particularly well. From coming back with the 21st Himalayan Odyssey ride to launching new riding gears — this 360-degree approach has helped further garner the positive sentiment among its consumer base. “From iconic rides like the Himalayan Odyssey to partnerships with like-minded brands, we’re committed to creating spaces where riders come together to explore, connect, and celebrate the journey,” noted Govindarajan. RE will be banking on the recently launched 2025 Hunter 350, Scram 440 and the Classic 650 to drive sales further in the upcoming months.
While Royal Enfield does not have any new product launches in the immediate future, it has started talks with CF Moto to secure its 250 cc mill. While the brand is yet to officially confirm the same, either way, motorcycles based on this new engine platform will help make the brand more accessible and affordable in the future. At the same time, it has also collaborated with foreign outfits to showcase numerous modification possibilities one can achieve with its bikes. The custom Super Meteor 650 chopper and the Fuel Fury 650 are some of the examples, both of which are helping make the brand more popular in underground culture. ”It’s this blend of passion, community and craftsmanship that keeps us moving forward,” Govindarajan concluded.
