Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) reported a period of sales strength across the four months leading to the end of October 2025. The company’s total sales volume shows movement from 60,073 units in July to 69,894 units in October. Domestic sales rose consistently during this time, moving from 43,973 units in July to 53,792 units in October. Exports remained a steady contribution, helping maintain overall company volumes.

A number of utility vehicles fuelled this sales rise. The Creta and Venue models, generated significant sales volume. In October, these two models achieved a combined monthly sale of 30,119 units, the company’s second-highest ever combined total for the pair. This indicates robust market acceptance of the models.

The period from August to October saw an intense contest for second position in the passenger vehicle market among major manufacturers, with changes in the rankings for domestic unit sales. In August 2025, Hyundai held the second position with 44,001 domestic units, ahead of Tata Motors, which recorded 41,001 units, and Mahindra & Mahindra, which sold 39,399 units.
The market landscape changed in September and October 2025, following the introduction of tax revisions. Tata Motors took the second position in September retail sales, registering 60,907 units, surpassing both Mahindra at 56,233 units and Hyundai at 51,547 units. This volume trend continued into October 2025. Tata Motors sales reached 74,705 units for the month. Mahindra reported 66,800 units, while Hyundai registered 65,045 units. The numbers reflect increased momentum in the domestic car market across the board.
