Indian two-and-three-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto Limited has suffered a major cybersecurity breach involving a ransomware attack.
In a formal regulatory exchange filing, the automaker disclosed that the incident occurred on 23 June 2026, directly impacting the internal IT systems of both the parent manufacturing company and its wholly owned technology subsidiary, Bajaj Auto Technology Limited (BATL).
Upon identifying the digital intrusion, the company's internal technical department, alongside corporate management and external cybersecurity specialists, immediately initiated containment protocols and precautionary safety measures to mitigate the threat. Bajaj Auto stated that these initial mitigation procedures have proven successful based on the diagnostic data available at this time.

The corporate management has officially reported the ransomware incident to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) as mandated under the provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
The public confirmation of the network intrusion triggered a swift negative reaction across the domestic financial markets. Shares of Bajaj Auto fell by more than 2% during the trading session immediately following the public announcement, reflecting investor anxiety regarding potential operational delays or digital vulnerabilities.
