Bajaj Introduces Wego P9018 Electric Three-Wheeler At ₹4.41 Lakh

Bajaj Auto has expanded its electric mobility portfolio with the launch of the Wego P9018, positioning it as the largest electric three-wheeler in the Indian market. The new auto rickshaw claims the highest certified range of 296 km in the electric three-wheeler segment, making it suitable for long-distance and high-volume passenger operations. 

Priced at ₹4,41,247 (ex-showroom), the Wego P9018 is powered by a 17.7 kWh battery. The electric rickshaw has been designed to address evolving mobility needs across urban, semi-urban and rural markets. Bajaj Auto states that the combination of extended range and higher passenger and luggage carrying capacity allows operators to undertake longer routes with fewer charging interruptions.

Speaking on this launch, Samardeep Subandh, President – Intra-City Business Unit, Bajaj Auto Ltd., said, “WEGO P9018 is the biggest electric three-wheeler in India, with the largest battery and exceptional range of 296 km on one charge. Wego is a great fit for India’s urban, semi-urban, and rural markets, which need large carrying capacity three-wheelers with long range.”

At the core of the Wego P9018 is the largest battery currently offered in India’s electric three-wheeler segment. The long range is further aided by a newly developed Battery Management System (BMS), enhanced regenerative braking, and overall vehicle efficiency improvements. These technologies are aimed at optimising energy usage under real-world operating conditions.

In terms of performance, the electric three-wheeler features a two-speed transmission, offering flexibility across varying load and road conditions. It also boasts of a 36 percent gradability, enabling the vehicle to operate effectively in hilly and challenging terrains. To enhance ownership confidence, Bajaj Auto is offering a five-year warranty on the Wego P9018.
