Bajaj’s first off-shore manufacturing plant in Manaus, Brazil, already reserves the capacity to produce 20,000 units per year.
Bajaj Auto’s facility in Manaus, Brazil, has already crossed its first production milestone by producing 10,000 units. The ISO-certified manufacturing facility became operational just seven months back with a production capacity to manufacture 20,000 units per annum. So going by this early achievement, the Brazilian facility is already halfway there to achieving its full production capacity.
Given the kind of encouraging response the brand has received, Bajaj’s Manaus facility should very well be on its way to now increase its production capacity to 50,000 units annually. Spread over 9,600 sq.m, construction for the Manaus plant started in 2023, and it was completed in 2024. It was strategically located in proximity to supply chains and major transportation hubs. It includes everything from engine to vehicle assembly and even testing facilities.
Currently, the production facility has 200 people working on the factory floors. It manufactures the Pulsar NS200 and the Pulsar NS160, along with the Dominar. Speaking on the occasion of this achievement via social media post, Bajaj Auto noted, “This milestone was only possible thanks to the dedicated work of more than 200 employees and the support of our suppliers, partners, and, of course, our customers who are passionate about mastering Brazilian roads.”
