BharatBenz Adds New 3S Facility In Gorakhpur, Expands Network in North India

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), which manufactures BharatBenz trucks and buses, has expanded its service network in Uttar Pradesh with the inauguration of a new 3S facility in Gorakhpur. The facility has been established in partnership with PPS Trucking and combines sales, service and spare parts operations under one roof, the company announced on Tuesday.

Located at Kasarol Village in Sahjanwa, within the Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) area along NH 27, the facility covers 75,000 sq ft. It has 11 service bays, comprising nine general service bays and two dedicated accident repair bays, and can handle up to 4,100 vehicles a year.

BharatBenz Adds New 3S Facility In Gorakhpur

The facility has been equipped with vehicle diagnostic systems, service equipment and an inventory of BharatBenz spare parts. It also has a washing bay and wheel-alignment equipment to support routine maintenance and repair requirements.

DICV said the facility will operate round the clock roadside assistance services, supported by mobile service vans. The workshop will be staffed by 48 trained and certified technicians, who will handle preventive maintenance, scheduled servicing, on-site assistance and express service for BharatBenz trucks and buses.

Driver and fleet operator facilities have also been incorporated into the site, including dedicated rest areas.

“The expansion of our network reflects BharatBenz’s commitment to being closer to our customers and supporting their businesses. Gorakhpur is strategically positioned with significant movement of commercial vehicles supporting infrastructure, industrial and freight activity across the region,” Rajiv Chaturvedi, President and Chief Business Officer, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles, said in a statement.

NH 27 Location Targets Regional Freight Traffic

The location along NH 27 gives the facility access to commercial vehicle traffic moving between Lucknow, Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. The corridor also connects eastern Uttar Pradesh with Bihar, the Northeast and Nepal, making the region an important route for long-distance freight and commercial transport.

Commercial vehicle activity in the area includes the movement of construction materials such as sand and stone chips, as well as agricultural and industrial goods. Long-haul freight operations also contribute to demand for maintenance and service infrastructure along the corridor.

For fleet operators, proximity to service facilities can reduce vehicle downtime, particularly on routes where trucks operate across long distances and carry time-sensitive cargo. The new workshop is therefore positioned to provide both scheduled maintenance and roadside support to BharatBenz customers operating through the region.

BharatBenz Network In Uttar Pradesh Reaches 20 Touchpoints

PPS Trucking said the Gorakhpur facility takes its BharatBenz network in Uttar Pradesh to 20 touchpoints. The company expects the new location to strengthen coverage for customers operating along the transport corridor connecting eastern Uttar Pradesh with the Northeast and Nepal.

The expansion comes as commercial vehicle manufacturers continue to place greater emphasis on after-sales infrastructure, particularly along major freight corridors. For truck and bus operators, access to genuine spare parts, trained technicians and faster service can have a direct bearing on vehicle availability and operating efficiency.

With the Gorakhpur facility now operational, BharatBenz is adding capacity in a region that serves as a link between northern India and several major eastern and cross-border freight routes.
