BMW CE 02 Pre-Bookings Announced, Prior To India Launch

BMW Motorrad India announced that it will commence bookings for the CE 02 on September 7 from 12:30 pm onwards. Interested customers can pre-book the BMW CE 02 at the authorised dealerships, however, the booking amount hasn’t been revealed yet. The booking amount will be announced on September 7 itself and India launch for the same is expected in the coming week.

The BMW CE 02 launch comes soon after the BMW CE 04 went on sale for ₹14.90 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the most expensive electric scooter to ever go on sale in our country. Unlike the CE 04, which is manufactured in Germany, the BMW CE 02 is built by TVS at its Hosur facility and exported to global markets. The styling of the CE 02 is quirky and modern just like its elder sibling. It does look very unique and the styling is reminiscent of monkey bikes but with a wild and modern interpretation. 

Talking about specs, the BMW CE 02 packs a 2 kWh battery pack and has a peak power output of 11kW and 54.9 Nm. The German brand claims that the CE 02 has a top speed of 95 kmph and a range of 90 km on a full charge. The BMW CE 02 retails for €8,500 equivalent to ₹7.72 lakh, which is a lot of money considering the performance and specification on offer. Since the electric bike is manufactured in India, the pricing could be close to ₹5 lakh (ex-showroom).
