BMW F 450 GS India Launch Pushed To Early 2026

Among the biggest highlights of the 2025 IBW (India Bike Week) was the launch of the BMW F 450 GS. While unofficial booking for the new adventure bike had already started at BMW dealerships, the launch of the bike has been long awaited as the production version was showcased at the 2025 EICMA motorcycle show in Italy. However, with IBW shifting location from Goa to Maharashtra due to the local elections in Vagator, the German company has decided to delay the launch to early 2026. The above comes as heartbreaking news for the hordes of Indian bikers waiting for the new F 450 GS.

The BMW F 450 GS has been positioned as the new entry-level ADV offering in the German brands portfolio and is the replacement for the BMW G 310 GS. The bike is powered by an all-new 420 cc parallel-twin engine producing 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. It features a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter. The twin-cylinder engine will not only deliver more exciting power than its predecessor but will also be more refined and better at triple digit touring speeds. 

The production-spec bike has retained the same trellis frame as seen on the concept motorcycle and it’s supported by an USD fork and a monoshock setup both having 180 mm of travel. Another interesting aspect is the weight of the bike as it tips the scale at just 175 kg. The bike runs on a 19/17-inch alloy wheel setup with dual-purpose rubber. The BMW F 450 GS will be manufactured by TVS at its Hosur plant and it will be interesting to see which variants and what amount of loading the India-spec bike features. As for pricing, we expect the F 450 GS to retail for around ₹5-5.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
