BMW Motorrad had already confirmed earlier that the new F 450 GS will launch in 2025.

The most anticipated bike to come out of the BMW-TVS partnership, the F 450 GS was recently spotted being tested on Indian roads. This is the first time that the test mule of the entry-level GS has been spotted in real world conditions, since its concept version broke cover last year at the 2024 EICMA. This signals that the bike is in its final stages of development and on track to make its global debut at the EICMA 2025 motorcycle show later this year and deliveries are expected to commence in India by early 2026.

But the bigger news here is that the F 450 GS test mule was spotted riding on alloy wheels as opposed to the spoke wheels seen on the concept bike. This doesn’t come as a surprise as the G 310 GS also rode on spoke wheels, but we expect the F 450 GS to be offered with both wheel options as variants. The test bike was also loaded with aftermarket luggage accessories and was tested with a pillion rider as well.

The test mule could also be spotted with a fully digital instrumemnt cluster similar to the one as seen on the premium and bigger GS bikes.

The upcoming BMW motorcycle will be built by TVS at its Hosur facility and even the test mule was spotted in Karnataka, just like the G 310 and the CE 02 electric scooter. Therefore, the asking price of the bike should be quite affordable. But given the fact that the F 450 GS will be powered by a bigger and brand-new 450 cc, parallel-twin engine, and that it looks (and should perform as well) like a proper miniaturized R 1300 GS – so, somewhere around the ₹5 lakh mark is what we hope the asking price would be.

Other key details that BMW Motorrad revealed last year at EICMA include the parallel-twin mill will produce 45 bhp, and the overall weight will be 175 kg. Once launched, the BMW F 450 GS will compete in the most coveted sub-500 cc ADV segment in India which include stalwarts like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure, and the Honda NX500.
