The iX1 is based on the 3rd generation of the X1 SUV
BMW India is all set to launch the iX1 electric SUV in the country on September 28. This is the all-electric version of the third generation of the X1 SUV. When it comes to design, it looks identical to the ICE variant but there are a few minor tweaks that make it identifiable as an electric car.
To begin with, the front fascia has been blanked off in BMW’s twin-kidney grille design. The LED headlamps too have been redesigned and there are new alloy wheels on offer. There are a few tweaks to the rear as well.
But the big change is that the iX1 is powered by a 64.7 kWh battery pack. It has a dual motor setup and the combined output stands at 313 bhp while there will be 494 Nm of torque available from the word go. Range of the BMW iX1 is expected to be 438 km and it will have fast charging capability.
Can you sense the pulse rising? The first fully-electric BMW iX1. 28th September. Stay tuned.#TheBMWiX1 #TheiX1 #BMW pic.twitter.com/dhNhEdqamt
