BMW Motorrad has opened pre-bookings in India for the F 450 GS ahead of its official launch on 23 April 2026, with prospective buyers able to reserve the motorcycle through authorised dealerships. The announcement was made on the brand's social media channels on Sunday accompanied by a teaser image showing the adventure-focused machine being put through its paces on off-road terrain.
The F 450 GS is built on an all-new 450cc parallel-twin platform developed in collaboration with TVS Motor Company, which is expected to gradually supersede BMW Motorrad's current 310cc range. The same platform is anticipated to form the basis of several future models, including a roadster and potentially a fully-faired variant. Production of the international-specification version is already under way in India, establishing the country as a central manufacturing base for BMW's global mid-capacity ambitions.
The motorcycle is powered by a 450cc twin-cylinder engine producing around 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. The tune is designed to comply with global A2 licence regulations while delivering a balance of everyday usability and touring capability.
On the electronics front, the F 450 GS is expected to come equipped with Dynamic Traction Control, ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control and engine drag torque control, alongside riding modes covering Rain, Road and Enduro conditions. Further features are likely to include a 6.5-inch TFT display with navigation, connected vehicle functionality and BMW's Easy Ride Clutch system, which allows the rider to operate the motorcycle with or without using the clutch manually.
