BSA is expected to launch the Gold Star 650-based scrambler in early-2025

Classic Legends is all set to add another model to its BSA brand portfolio with a scrambler derivative of the Gold Star 650. And the name of the bike is likely to be B65 Scrambler.

The B65 Scrambler looks noticably different from the Gold Star 650. No longer ooze classiness but gives off a rugged and butch demeanor. Hence, the headlight (LED here) gets a grille, the mudguards are raised and chopped, the grab rail is slim, and the seat is a flat bench unit like most scramblers have. Even the side panels now bear scrambler-style racing number plates. It is seen in two dual-tone shades: white and grey or yellow and grey.

No prizes for guessing the engine will be the same as the Gold Star 650. The same 652 cc single will be employed here with the same time, 45 bhp and 55 Nm. We expect the final drive to be different, though, so as to suit the scrambler’s character.

While the frame and suspension components appear to be similar, we should expect BSA to have reinforced the chassis a bit more to handle rough roading as well as a bit more travel to better soak in the bumps. There is some reason to suggest the later change has taken place as the seat height is 820 mm, nearly 40 mm more than the Gold Star 650. Part of the height gain could be because of the larger wheels and tyres but it might not be entirely the reason.

No changes to report on the braking department as well. The most noticeable difference is the use of a 19-/17-inch spoke wheel setup. These are ideal modern scrambler wheel sizes with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR rubber to be found here.

We expect BSA to launch the B65 Scrambler in India by early-2025 with prices around the ₹3.30 lakh mark. This should hopefully undercut the newly-launched Royal Enfield Bear 650, which we took a spin on recently. More details to come soon.
