The leadership transition supports Bridgestone India’s ongoing transformation into a sustainable solutions company, guided by the global E8 Commitment and its eight sustainability-focused values.
Bridgestone India has announced the appointment of Rajarshi Moitra as its new Managing Director effective 1 January 2026. Moitra, who currently serves as Deputy Managing Director, will take over from Hiroshi Yoshizane, marking a key leadership transition for the company as it advances its long-term growth and transformation agenda.
Moitra’s appointment follows a structured progression within the organisation. Having joined Bridgestone India in 2019 to lead the Consumer business, he has since taken on broader responsibilities across Consumer & Commercial Business, Solution Business, and Supply Chain & Logistics.
In June 2024, Moitra became Executive Director – Sales & Marketing, and in May 2025 he was elevated to Deputy Managing Director, supporting nationwide operations. With more than two decades of experience in business strategy, P&L leadership, and large-scale organisational transformations, Moitra brings extensive industry insight to his new role.
Upon being named Managing Director, Moitra expressed gratitude and a commitment to furthering the company’s mission. “I’m deeply honored to take on the role of Managing Director… I look forward to continuing to work in alignment with Bridgestone’s essence and its unchanging mission of ‘Serving Society with Superior Quality’,” he said, emphasizing continued focus on customers, OEM partners, and community engagement.
Outgoing Managing Director Hiroshi Yoshizane will transition to a global leadership role as Vice President and Senior Officer of Bridgestone Corporation, effective the same day. He will also continue serving as Group President of Bridgestone Asia Pacific, India, China (BSAPIC), Chairman of the Board of Bridgestone India, and Vice Chairman of the Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association.
Yoshizane highlighted the progress achieved during his tenure, including strengthened operations, expanded market presence, advancements in safety and quality, and new initiatives in R&D, sustainability, and social contribution. He expressed confidence in Moitra’s leadership to steer the company’s next phase of growth.
The leadership transition aligns with Bridgestone India’s broader transformation strategy toward becoming a sustainable solutions company, guided by the global Bridgestone E8 Commitment, which encompasses eight core values aimed at contributing to a sustainable society. This framework continues to shape the company’s innovation, operations, and long-term value creation.
Bridgestone currently operates two manufacturing facilities in India, one in Kheda, Madhya Pradesh and the other in Pune, Maharashtra. Last year, the company announced a strategic growth investment to expand capacity and capability of both the facilities with a collective investment of US$85 million (approx. ₹753.97 crore).
