India’s pioneer Dakar rider aims to groom the next generation of supercross stars
C S Santosh is all set to field his own team of supercross stars as his organisation BigRock Motorsport is a franchise team at this year’s Ceat Indian Supercross Racing League. Santosh, along with N Gautam and Uday Shankar, bring a new level of cred to this already impressive racing league that is shaping to have quite a lot of stars and budding future talent.
Santosh, who started out as a dirt racer and national supercross champion, knows how a good foundation into this world is key to great success. On the acquisition of the team he said, “Joining the CEAT Indian Supercross Racing League with BigRock Motorsport is an incredible achievement and a true milestone for me. I am extremely excited to be part of this innovative approach to motorsports, which aligns perfectly with my passion for racing. Through this partnership, we are committed to inspiring and nurturing young talent in the field, providing them with a top-notch platform to showcase their skills. Our ultimate goal is to put India on the map of Supercross racing at a global level.”
You have to give kudos to Santosh, the man has literally cheated death and is aiming for a full strength return to riding, so as to be able to participate in rallies in 2024. With his association with Hero MotoSports coming to an end in 2022, Santosh currently is very tight-lipped about his future plans. However, we do know that he has been testing a certain 450cc adventure motorcycle, which launches at the end of the month. And with a rally-prepped version of the same primed for late-2024, he could yet again be part of another Indian outfit at Dakar.
