Mahindra has offered a fresh glimpse of its forthcoming Vision.X concept, releasing a side profile teaser that indicates a shift towards a more urban-centric and premium electric SUV. The design features smooth surfaces, defined wheel arches, and sculpted lines, suggesting a departure from the rugged aesthetic seen in previous Mahindra EV concepts like the Vision T, Vision S, and Vision SXT.
The Vision.X appears sleeker than its earlier concept siblings, potentially targeting city buyers rather than those seeking extreme off-road capability. We can speculate that this model could be a preview of the production version of the XEV 7e, an electric vehicle that has been observed undergoing testing in a modified XUV700 body shell. Test mules of the XEV 7e have also displayed EV-specific elements, including updated interior features, potentially shared with the XEV 9e.
The complete reveal of the Vision.X concept is scheduled for August 15 in Mumbai. On this occasion, Mahindra is expected to provide further details regarding its next-generation electric vehicle strategy and design direction under the "Born Electric" initiative.
Mahindra's 'Born Electric' vision is central to its electric vehicle aspirations. The company is developing a range of electric SUVs underpinned by its dedicated INGLO platform. This modular skateboard architecture is designed to support various vehicle sizes, body styles, and powertrain configurations, including both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive.
The INGLO platform incorporates advanced battery technologies, with options ranging from 60 kWh to 80 kWh, and supports ultra-fast charging capabilities, allowing batteries to reach 80% charge in under 30 minutes with a 175 kW fast charger.
