Cars Launching In October 2026 In India

Five models across price points and powertrains are set to reach Indian showrooms this month, as manufacturers crowd the festive calendar from mid-October onwards.

These launches include a mix of mass market and premium models.

India's car market enters its busiest buying season this month, with five new launches spanning hatchbacks, hybrid SUVs, a locally assembled luxury crossover and two electric Volvos. The spread reflects how festive-season timing, running through Navratri and into Diwali, concentrates launch activity for manufacturers chasing a seasonal spike in retail demand.

Volvo opens the sequence on 12 October with the EX90 electric SUV and the ES90 electric sedan, its first new sedan nameplate since the S90 was discontinued last year. Both ride on an 800-volt architecture with DC fast-charging capability of up to 350kW. Globally, Volvo quotes a WLTP range of up to 608km for the EX90's 106kWh twin-motor variant and up to 696km for the equivalent ES90, though the configuration Volvo will actually sell in India has not been confirmed. Pricing estimates from industry trackers range as high as Rs 1.3 crore for the EX90, but neither car has an official price yet.

Toyota is expected to follow on 14 October with a facelifted Glanza, widely reported to mirror updates already seen on the related Maruti Suzuki Baleno — a shift to a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, along with driver-assistance and comfort features such as ventilated seats. Toyota itself has not confirmed the date or specifications.

Audi's third-generation Q3 arrives on 16 October, now assembled locally at the Škoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Maharashtra, a move the company has linked to sharper pricing. Bookings opened last month at Rs 1 lakh. The SUV carries a 204hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and quattro all-wheel drive as standard, with Audi India claiming a 0-100kph time of 7.1 seconds.

A day later, on 17 October, Renault introduces a strong-hybrid variant of the Duster, its first hybrid for India. The model combines a 1.8-litre petrol engine with two electric motors for a combined 160hp, a figure that comfortably exceeds the 116hp hybrid systems used by rival SUVs from Maruti Suzuki and Toyota. Renault says pre-launch demand has already outstripped planned 2026 production.

Hyundai, meanwhile, has opened bookings for a new Bayon SUV, positioned between the Venue and Creta, but has given only a "festive season" timeframe rather than a firm India launch date; its European debut takes place on the same day as Volvo's India launch.
