The Aircross scored 27.05 / 32 points for adult occupant protection and 40 / 49 points for child occupant protection.
Citroën’s Aircross 5-seater SUV has received a commendable 5-star safety rating in its Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP) crash tests, conducted in July 2025 and released today. The results show the Aircross scoring impressively in key safety parameters, making it one of the safest SUVs in its segment in India.
The 5-star safety rating reflects the vehicle’s robust occupant protection features. In adult occupant protection (AOP), the Aircross scored 27.05 out of a maximum 32 points, while for child occupant protection (COP), it achieved 40 out of 49 points. The SUV comes equipped with essential safety features such as dual front airbags, side head curtain airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), seatbelt reminders, and ISOFIX child seat anchors, all contributing to its high safety performance.
For context, the Tata Harrier, a popular mid-size SUV, maintains a strong benchmark with a perfect 32/32 AOP and 45/49 COP in its 2025 BNCAP tests, reflecting its reputation as one of the safest SUVs in India. Similarly, the recently crash-tested Maruti Suzuki Victoris also earned a 5-star rating with an adult occupant score of 31.66/32 and child occupant protection scoring 43/49, showcasing its advanced safety equipment including six airbags and electronic stability control.
To better understand how the Aircross fares against these competitors, the following table compares key crash test scores for the three SUVs:
While the Aircross’s scores are slightly lower than those of the Harrier and Victoris, a 5 star rating is commendable.
The Aircross also offers innovative safety equipment such as side thorax and pelvis airbags (optional), standard pedestrian protection, belt pretensioners, and compatibility with integrated child restraint systems.
