In the recent spy shots, it is clear that the upcoming C3X sports a coupe-SUV bodystyle, uncommon in the compact sedan segment. Despite heavy camouflage, certain styling cues such as the lift-style door handles – reminiscent of the C3 range – and a prominently raked C-pillar have been discerned. Previous glimpses have hinted at a split headlamp design in line with Citroën's C3 family.

Interior shots of the test mule reveal minimal deviation from the existing C3 models, with the top variant expected to feature a sizable central touchscreen. There's speculation that the sedan may inherit the digital instrument cluster from the C3 Aircross. Notably, design elements such as the cube-like air-con vents are carried over from the C3 range.
Powering the C3X is likely to be the PureTech 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, akin to its hatchback and Aircross counterparts. This unit is anticipated to deliver 108 bhp and 190 Nm of torque, coupled with a standard 6-speed manual gearbox. Citroën may also offer an automatic option, following its introduction in the C3 Aircross.
Competing in the compact sedan segment against stalwarts like the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, VW Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, the C3X aims to carve a niche. Citroën India seeks to entice buyers in a competitive market with a potential pricing strategy to undercut rivals.
