However, the launch timeline remains uncertain.
Recently at the launch of the 2025 Yezdi Adventure, Classic Legends’ co-founder and bossman, Anupam Thareja confirmed along the sidelines that the brand is also working on a new 450 cc engine platform. While the launch timeline and the exact format of the bike that will be powered by this new engine still remains uncertain, Thareja did confirm that its immediate focus is to further refine its existing engines.
“We're focusing on real-world performance rather than just engine size,” Thareja stated. "Our priority is improving sprockets, gear ratios, handling, and suspension to enhance the riding experience." Either way, this new 450 cc platform will give Classic Legends a chance to compete in the sub-500 cc space which has become the new lucrative space for bike makers.
Nearly every bikemaker is planning or has products in this space, like the KTM 390s, the 400 cc Triumphs, the HImalayan and Guerrilla 450 from Royal Enfield, the Aprilia 457s, the Hero-Harley 440s and even the upcoming BMW-TVS-Norton 450s. It now depends on what flavour Classic Legends decide to go for its bikes.
Furthermore, the brand also announced its plans to double sales and introduce four new motorcycles in FY26. While we already know that a scrambler variant of the BSA Gold Star is incoming – in order to increase sales, Classic Legends will expand its dealership network in the country from the current 350 to 500 outlets.
Classic Legends has struggled to gain significant market share in the middleweight motorcycle segment due to quality issues, service concerns, and pandemic-related disruptions. The company's renewed objective is to refine its existing portfolio further and has given us some interesting and well polished bikes. For example, both the Jawa 42 FJ and the Jawa 350 both debuted with significant improvements that we appreciated a lot when we rode both. Even the Yezdi Adventure, which was refreshed aesthetically earlier this week, was mechanically refined last year too with new gear based engine mapping.
