The facility carries advanced diagnostic systems, modern tooling and genuine BharatBenz spare parts.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG, has opened a new BharatBenz service centre in Silchar, Assam, expanding its after-sales footprint into the Northeast region through a partnership with PPS Trucking, one of India's largest automobile dealer groups.

Situated on the Silchar Bypass at Ram Nagar near ISBT on NH 37, the 30,000 sq ft workshop features eight fully equipped service bays and the capacity to handle up to 3,000 vehicles annually. The facility carries advanced diagnostic systems, modern tooling and genuine BharatBenz spare parts, with round-the-clock roadside assistance available via mobile service vans to minimise vehicle downtime.

The centre is positioned to serve commercial vehicles running along key freight corridors linking Assam with Mizoram and Manipur, a logistics belt that is seeing growing activity off the back of infrastructure investment in the Barak Valley, road-building under the Asom Mala 3.0 programme, and industrial demand tied to limestone extraction in the North Cachar Hills district of Dima Hasao, which feeds cement production across Assam.

"Fleet operators in the Northeast face some of the most demanding route conditions in the country, and they deserve after-sales support that matches that reality. With PPS Trucking, we've built a facility in Silchar that puts genuine service capability within reach — advanced diagnostics, trained technicians, round-the-clock roadside support. At BharatBenz, proximity to the customer is not just a metric; it's the measure of how seriously we take the ownership experience," Rajiv Chaturvedi, President and Chief Business Officer at DICV, said in a statement.

"As one of BharatBenz's largest partners, we share a commitment to customer-centricity, expanded presence and market reach, and improved total cost of ownership. The Silchar facility strengthens our footprint at a key junction in the Northeast corridor, connecting Assam with Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura," said Rajiv Sanghvi, Managing Director of PPS Trucking.

The workshop will be staffed by 35 trained and certified technicians and has been designed with driver welfare in mind, incorporating dedicated rest areas alongside customer-facing amenities. Services on offer span preventive maintenance, scheduled servicing, on-site support and express service options, all backed by a regional spare parts inventory intended to reduce turnaround times and keep fleets operational.

The Silchar opening forms part of a wider strategy by BharatBenz and PPS Trucking to deepen their combined network across the Northeast, with the pair citing service proximity, parts availability and fleet uptime as the pillars of their long-term growth ambitions in the market.
