Disney’s Cars Universe To Shine In Piston Peak National Park

Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is set to welcome Piston Peak National Park, a thrilling Cars-themed land in Frontierland, inspired by the Disney-Pixar universe.

Drawing from the Rocky Mountains and American national parks, this immersive area will feature snow-capped peaks, waterfalls, rivers, and geysers, blending seamlessly with the Cars franchise’s adventurous spirit.

Unlike California’s Radiator Springs, Piston Peak offers a rugged, wilderness setting, bringing a fresh twist to the beloved series.  

Piston Peak will feature two exciting attractions: a high-speed off-road rally race through mountain trails, dodging geysers and splashing through mudholes, and a family-friendly ride for all ages.

Each rally vehicle will have its own personality, name, and number, enhancing the Cars experience. Guests can explore a visitor lodge, Ranger HQ, and winding trails, all designed using “Parkitecture,” a National Park Service style that harmonises structures with the natural environment, ensuring a cohesive and immersive aesthetic.  

Set to replace Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America, Piston Peak integrates with Frontierland’s storytelling, with towering trees and a river maintaining the area’s exploratory feel.

The land’s design, with rugged mountains and geysers extending from Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, creates a dynamic backdrop for Cars fans. While an opening date remains unconfirmed, construction begins in July 2025, promising a vibrant addition to Magic Kingdom’s landscape.
