Ducati Desmo450 MX Motocross Bike Launched In India, Priced At ₹17.24 Lakh

Ducati has introduced its first-ever motocross machine, the Desmo450 MX in India, at an introductory price of ₹17.24 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Ducati Desmo450 MX is unlike anything you’ve seen from the Italian performance motorcycle maker, and addresses a new niche of high octane off-road action. The new Desmo450 MX has been developed and tested on the competitive tracks of the MXGP World Championship, and is targeted at professional and amateur riders. The motocross bike will be available across four Ducati dealerships across the country - New Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Bookings are now open while deliveries are set to begin towards the end of March.

The Ducati Desmo450 MX is the most unDucati bike the brand has ever created. It’s the first of a new range of specialist off-road motorcycles that Ducati is working on. The Desmo450 MX is underpinned by a lightweight aluminium frame that gets minimal welds to ensure high strength, rigidity, and agility. The styling is unmistakably Ducati, albeit the body work is to a minimum to keep the weight in check.

Power on the Ducati Desmo450 MX comes from the newly developed 449.6 cc single-cylinder engine with Desmodromic distribution, which is a Ducati-specific feature making its debut in the motocross landscape. The bike maker says this allows for a broad power delivery, bringing strong torque at low-to-medium revs.

The Desmo450’MX is also the first motocross machine in the world to get advanced electronics, specifically traction control. The system accurately measures rear wheel slip and intelligently activates only when needed, to ensure minimum intrusion when riding.

Ducati is offering a a host of accessories from its performance catalogue, which includes factory parts such as machined wheel hubs and triple clamps, an Akrapovič titanium exhaust system, and Brembo Racing brake calipers. There’s also a technical apparel collection created with Drudi Performance and featuring Alpinestars will also be available for riders.
