EICMA 2023: New Royal Enfield Himalayan Globally Unveiled

Days after giving us a brief go on the bike, Royal Enfield has unveiled the 2023 Himalayan to global audiences at EICMA 2023. The adventure motorcycle has gotten a lot more serious and is prepared to take the world by storm.

The biggest highlight of the new Himalayan is the Sherpa 450 motor, which is the first engine that Royal Enfield has made that is liquid-cooled and is of the short-stroke configuration. It makes a healthy 39.5 bhp and 40 Nm, both of which aren’t class leading but that was never Royal Enfield’s intention. The Sherpa is meant to take you to places in a quicker but just as effortless way as the old 411LS did.

And so it is backed up with similarly potent hardware: 43 mm USD fork, link-type monoshock, 21-/17-inch spoke wheels, a wider 140-section rear radial tyre, a 320 mm front rotor and switchable ABS. The seriousness has been amped up as there’s quite a bit more suspension travel, more ground clearance to clear obstacles and a rider’s seat that can be height adjusted between 825 mm and 845 mm. There’s a low seat height option as well that can be switched between 805 mm and 825 mm.
