Ultraviolette is the first Indian electric start-up to launch a two-wheeler in the European market.
Ultraviolette made a big announcement today of going on sale in the European market. Back in September, 2024, the Bengaluru-based startup had commenced exports to the European market and today at the world’s biggest motorcycle show it announced prices for the F77 Mach 2. The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 will be sold in the European market at an introductory pricing of €9,990 or equivalent to ₹9 lakh. Prices for the F77 Mach 2 start at ₹2.99 lakh (ex-showroom). UV claims that its electric motorcycle can be used by all European motorcycle license holders including A1 and A2. By launching the F77 Mach 2 in Europe, Ultraviolette became the first Indian EV start-up to go on sale in these markets.
Apart from launching the new electric motorcycle at EICMA 2024, the Indian brand also showcased the electric ADV Concept X. The electric adventure bike is still in concept form but if it gets a positive response from the audience a production version could be launched in the future. Talking about the F77 Mach 2, it’s the second iteration of the F77 and Ultraviolette engineers not only improved performance and range, but also managed to reduce the cost of the bike. The F77 Mach 2’s powertrain produces 100 Nm and 40 bhp. It boasts a 0-100 kmph time of just 7.7 seconds and can cover 323 km on a full charge (IDC figure).
Speaking about the new announcement, Narayan Subramaniam, Co-founder and CEO of Ultraviolette, added, “Ultraviolette is on a journey to create an extensive lineup of electric vehicles that cater to a global audience. The F77 MACH 2, F99 Racing Platform, and Concept X are all part of our vision to build an electric future that offers riders more choices that harmoniously bring together performance and design. Today’s showcase at EICMA is yet another statement of our commitment to constantly innovate and disrupt the status quo.”
Ultraviolette is also developing the F99, which it touts as India’s first superbike and also the fastest bike to be built by an Indian two-wheeler brand. The company plans to set a new top speed record of 265 kmph by the end of the year. If the UV F99 manages to reach those speeds, it will be among the fastest electric motorcycles globally.
