The anticipation is for a much improved performance in October with Navratri and Diwali to come
An 8.51 percent Y-o-Y decline has been reported in the latest FADA sales report for two-wheeler purchases in the month of September 2024. It is usually the month that customers begin to make their annual purchases. However, this year seemed to have taken a little slowdown due to a few factors.
Firstly, natural factors like heavier rains that extended to the last week of the month kept buyers from bringing home their prized possessions. Plus, seasonal occurrences like Shraddh and Pitrapaksha put off purchases. Finally, one of the main reasons cited was the low customer sentiment with lesser inquiries and fewer walk-ins.
However, not all is doom and gloom. The first half sales performance of this fiscal year has seen a positive growth compared to the last fiscal year. And with festivals like the on-going Navratri and upcoming Diwali period being the busiest time of the year, we should expect some favourable results for the segment.
