Tesla unveiled its long-delayed electric sports car during a launch event in Waco, Texas, featuring SpaceX-derived thrusters and airborne manoeuvres. Chief Executive Elon Musk confirmed that production is scheduled to commence in 2028. Despite the spectacle, financial market reactions were mixed, with analysts noting that customer deliveries remain several years away following multiple delays.

The comments come as Ferrari navigates its own electric transition with the revelation of the Luce, the luxury sports car maker's first fully electric vehicle. Developed in collaboration with former Apple design chief Jony Ive and his LoveFrom studio team, the electric model initially met with market skepticism, contributing to a drop in Ferrari shares in Milan.

Vigna defended the collaborative approach, emphasising that outside perspectives were essential in solving complex engineering and design challenges that internal teams might not have attempted alone.
