Whether you want a reliable, fuel-efficient Japanese commuter, or a sporty, fast scooter – we have listed them down all.
The festive season is an ideal time to bring home a new scooter. And the five we have here are quite well-suited to cater to all of your needs. From fuel-efficient daily commuters to tech-packed premium models, five standout scooters blend the festive appeal with proper practical commuting solutions.
The Honda Activa 125 is India's quintessential family scooter, bringing reliability and practicality to daily commutes. Its strength lies in its excellent fuel efficiency and widespread service network, which has helped it gain several accolades and become a household name being one of them. Priced from ₹80,256 (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards, the Activa 125 is available in four trim levels, with the top-spec H-Smart trim, which will set you back by ₹89,249 (ex-showroom, Delhi) is available with a keyfob too.
Do you want something modern-looking, comfy and spacious that comes loaded to the gills with features? How about the new TVS Jupiter 110? It was recently updated, which saw it gain a new sharp body design with many convenient and practical features. As a result, the new TVS Jupiter 110 is not just a proper modern scooter but also quite a value-for-money product. It starts from ₹73,700 and goes up to ₹87,250 ( all ex-showroom, Delhi), making it quite the affordable option to the Honda Activa. The latter also looks and feels quite dated in comparison.
Moving on to something larger and more exciting while still maintaining good family scooter principles, then you should consider the Suzuki Access 125. Yes, it does get a bigger engine, but it is quite frugal, one of the best in the segments. It get a fully digital LCD cluster that shows turn-by-turn navigation, call/SMS and notification alerts. And if the looks of the Access 125 feel a bit dated to you, then hold on to your horses, for Suzuki is slated to launch a new iteration of this scooter very soon – you can read more about it here.
The TVS NTorq 125 has been the king of sporty 125 cc scooters, making it quite a bit amongst those who seek performance from their scooting adventures. It looks substantial, too, and those nice faux air vent designs further up its sporty appeal. This strong aesthetic is backed by a high-performance 125 cc engine that produces a healthy 9.25 bhp and 10.5 Nm on the regular trims while the more spirited Race XP variant has 10.6 bhp and 10.9 Nm on tap. Priced from ₹86,841 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new TVS NTorq 125 can double up as a family scooter with ample practicality on board. Check out our review below to learn more about the scooter:
If you want to go all out on performance this Diwali, consider the Yamaha Aerox 155. This maxi-scooter-styled sports scooter gets the same 155 cc, DOHC, single-cylinder from the Yamaha R15 and MT-15 – so performance-wise, it's already up there with some of the greats. Coupled with that agile handling setup and safety features like traction control, riding the Aerox 155 can be quite rewarding. Yes, with a 155 cc engine, the Aerox 155 is expensive at ₹1.48 lakh (ex-showroom price, Delhi). However, there's nothing quite like it, especially if you want a big scooter that can go touring.
