Hyundai has introduced the Venue HX8 diesel-automatic at ₹13.70 lakh, making the diesel-AT powertrain ₹1.81 lakh more affordable and expanding its availability to two variants.
Hyundai Motor India has expanded the Hyundai Venue lineup with the launch of a new HX8 diesel-automatic variant priced at ₹13.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
Until now, the diesel-automatic powertrain was only offered in the top-spec HX10 trim, priced at ₹15.51 lakh. The addition of the HX8 variant lowers the entry price for the diesel-AT combination by ₹1.81 lakh, making it more accessible to buyers.
The announcement coincides with the Venue crossing 1 lakh bookings since the updated model was introduced in November last year.
The HX8 is positioned as the second-highest trim in the Venue range. Hyundai has retained the existing equipment list for this variant, which includes ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a four-way powered driver’s seat, sunroof, automatic climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, connected car technology with over-the-air updates, drive and traction modes, and paddle shifters.

However, compared with the top-spec HX10 trim, the HX8 misses out on certain premium features such as an electrochromic inside rear-view mirror, front and side parking sensors, Level 2 ADAS, dual 12.3-inch curved displays and a Bose eight-speaker audio system.
Instead, the HX8 features a 10.25-inch infotainment system paired with a 4.2-inch colour TFT digital instrument cluster.
The Venue diesel is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 116 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed torque converter automatic transmission. This diesel-automatic combination is widely regarded as one of the stronger powertrain options in the compact SUV segment.
The diesel engine is also available with a six-speed manual gearbox across a broader range of trims.
Prices for the Venue lineup currently range from ₹7.99 lakh to ₹15.51 lakh (ex-showroom). In the compact SUV segment, the model competes with rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq.
