Raymond Group chairman and managing director Gautam Singhania was injured when a speedboat on which he was travelling overturned near V Felidhoo island in the Maldives in the early hours of Friday. Two Indian passengers are reported missing after the Maldives speedboat accident and a search operation is under way in the area.

According to local media reports, the speedboat was carrying seven tourists when it overturned around 1.15 am local time near V Felidhoo in Vaavu Atoll. The passengers included five men from India, one passenger from the United Kingdom and one from Russia. The Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard has launched a search operation in the sea around the island. One of the people missing is Indian Rally legend, Hari Singh. However, Maldivian authorities have not issued any official confirmation on the identity of the missing passengers, and details on the condition of others on board remain unclear.
Singhania suffered what his team described as minor injuries in the Maldives boat accident and later returned to Mumbai for treatment. He is currently admitted at the Breach Candy Hospital. In a statement shared with the media, Singhania’s spokesperson said, “Gautam Singhania suffered minor injuries following an unfortunate accident. He is recovering under due care in Mumbai. We thank you for the wishes and pray for the well-being of the affected friends.”
