Genesys launches HD ADAS maps for 1 lakh km of India's highways; focuses on safety, precision for vehicles and mobility.
Genesys International Corporation has expanded its New India Map stack with high-definition (HD) maps designed for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in vehicles. Covering over 1 lakh km of national highways, expressways, and key corridors, these maps provide centimetre-level details for automotive and mobility applications.
The initiative focuses on road safety, addressing India's high highway fatality rates linked to speed, lane indiscipline, and limited visibility. HD maps offer enhanced data on lane geometry, markings, barriers, signage, slopes, and curves, supporting ADAS functions beyond traditional sensor-based systems.
To ensure precision, Genesys utilised the Survey of India’s Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) network for real-time GNSS corrections. This collaboration, under an existing MoU, extends to digital twin projects and geospatial initiatives.
The maps include features like medians, elevation profiles, and localisation markers, all licensed for sectors such as fleet navigation, logistics, and analytics. Genesys owns the datasets, aiming to foster industry growth.
Hitesh Makwana, Surveyor General of India, stated that leveraging CORS for HD mapping aligns with geospatial infrastructure's role in national development, enabling accurate datasets for mobility and governance.
Sajid Malik, Chairman & Managing Director, Genesys International, noted that the project integrates mapping with India's mobility needs, preparing for ADAS adoption and contributing to the global shift toward safer transport.
This effort supports Atmanirbhar Bharat by building local geospatial capabilities, positioning Genesys in transport and digital infrastructure.
Genesys, with over 2,000 professionals, specialises in advanced mapping, including navigation, 3D models, and the Genesys constellation of sensors.
