The fresh allocation comes on top of the 7 billion reais investment programme unveiled in 2024, taking GM's total planned investment in Brazil to 10.5 billion reais through 2028.
The investment will support the renewal of Chevrolet's product portfolio, the introduction of new technologies including hybrid powertrains, and upgrades to manufacturing facilities. It will also be used to strengthen the company's engineering and production capabilities in the country.
GM said the programme is intended to enhance the competitiveness of Brazil's automotive industry while supporting the creation of skilled jobs.
The new investment highlights the company's long-term commitment to Brazil, which is one of its most important markets in Latin America and a key manufacturing base for regional operations.
